PayPal restrictions in Germany

As of 15th October 2019, users from Germany will be able to use their PayPal funds only for Sports betting. Playing Slots will still be possible with deposits from all other payment methods such as VISA, Mastercard, Paysafecard, SOFORT, etc. This was an internal decision by the PayPal Group and does not affect any other payment provider.

1. Why can’t I use PayPal funds for Slots?

PayPal deposits from 15th October 2019 onwards can only be used in Sports for placing bets as PayPal no longer supports transactions pertaining to Slots. This only applies to users who are residents of Germany.

2. Why are there two balances in my account?

PayPal have asked that their deposits are kept separate from those of other payment providers and that PayPal funds only be used for Sports betting. Winnings from PayPal bets will be returned to the “PayPal Balance” and this balance can be withdrawn through PayPal only. The “Main Balance” contains funds from all sources except PayPal and it can be wagered in Sports and Slots.

3. Why is my balance split into “Main Balance” and “PayPal Balance”?

Deposits made with any other payment method than PayPal will be combined under “Main Balance” and will be available in all products (Sports and Slots). PayPal deposits will be displayed as “PayPal Balance” and will be available for Sports Betting only.

4. Can I bet on Sports with my PayPal deposit?

Yes, PayPal deposits can be used only for sports betting and all winnings from those bets will be credited into your “PayPal Balance”. The maximum bet stake is as much as you have in your “PayPal Balance”.

5. Which deposit methods can I use for sports betting?

All payment methods including PayPal can be used for sports betting.

6. What happens to PayPal deposits from before 15th October 2019?

PayPal deposits made before 15th October 2019 will stay in the “Main Balance” and these funds will be available for all products (Sports and Slots). You can withdraw this money through any payment method except PayPal - we recommend Trustly Instant Bank Transfer.

7. Can I transfer funds from the “PayPal Balance” to the “Main Balance”?

As required by PayPal, funds from the "PayPal Balance" may not be transferred to the "Main Balance" and vice versa.

8. Where can I view my “PayPal Balance”?

A clear balance split will be displayed in your account. You can see the available “PayPal Balance” in your account from the:

  • My Balance page after you log in.
  • Balance selection menu in the top left corner of the bet slip. In this view, "PayPal Balance" contains your PayPal deposits, sports bonuses that were claimed with PayPal deposits and any winnings you've made from those deposits and bonuses. "Main Balance" contains all your deposits from sources other than PayPal, sports bonuses that were claimed with any other method than PayPal, winnings from those deposits and bonuses as well as any non-deposit sports betting bonuses.

9. What's the “PayPal Balance” displayed in my balance details?

This balance contains your PayPal deposits as of 15th October 2019 as well as any sports betting winnings that you have made from those deposits.

10. What happens if I win a sports bet that was placed with funds from the “PayPal Balance”?

The winnings received from sports bets placed using the “PayPal Balance” will remain in the “PayPal Balance” and can only be used for Sports bets or withdrawals via PayPal.

11. I deposited with PayPal and a bonus code but the bonus was not awarded. Why?

We no longer offer any Slots bonuses for PayPal deposits because PayPal doesn’t support those products any more.

If you've deposited with PayPal for a Slots or multi-product bonus, the bonus will not be credited because PayPal deposits can only be used to claim Sports bonuses. Please choose a different, valid payment method to claim non-Sports bonuses. In general, these will only be awarded if you've deposited with one of the payment methods marked with a yellow "BONUS" ribbon.

12. How will this change affect my withdrawals?

Funds from the “PayPal Balance” can only be withdrawn to your PayPal account.

Any PayPal deposits made before the 15th October 2019 will be in the “Main Balance” and therefore they can only be withdrawn via Bank Transfer (3 days), Trustly Instant Bank Transfer (3-6 hours) and credit card (provided that you have previously deposited with that card).

13. Can I transfer my “PayPal Balance” to Slots?

Unfortunately, this is no longer possible for any gambling providers in Germany. If you'd like to play Slots you need to deposit with another payment method. We support more than 18 options including SOFORT, several credit cards, Trustly Instant Bank Transfer and Paysafecard.

14. Which deposit methods can I use to play Slots?

Take advantage of one of the following other deposit methods to continue playing Slots, e.g.:

  • SOFORT
  • VISA
  • Mastercard
  • Trustly
  • Paysafecard

15. I've deposited with PayPal as well as with other methods. Which amount is available for Sports and which for Slots?

PayPal deposits can only be used for sports betting. If you have a total balance of €150 which includes a PayPal deposit of €50 and a non-PayPal deposit of €100:

  • You can wager €150 in Sports.
  • You can wager €50 from your "PayPal Balance" in Sports only.
  • You can wager €100 from your "Main Balance" in Sports and Slots.

16. Why don't I see my total balance when playing Slots?

We do not display your "PayPal Balance" in Slots since you cannot wager it there anyway. Therefore, you will only see your “Main Balance”, i.e. your non-PayPal deposits and Slots bonuses. Check the bonus details for more information on the exact deposit and bonus amounts.

17. Can I combine my "PayPal Balance" and "Main Balance" in the same bet slip?

No. The bet slip accepts wagers from either your "PayPal Balance" or your "Main Balance". If you'd like to place a sports bet with a stake higher than any of the balances, you will unfortunately for the time being need to place two separate bets.
